Buhari To Reopen Cases Of Political Assassinations And Kidnappings

A statement by the President's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina said that President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday promised that his administration will make sure that all cases of political assassination and kidnapping in the country are thoroughly investigated.

This  promise was made while addressing state chairmen of the All Progressives Congress who visited him at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Adesina said,
“I can confirm to you that the President did say during the closed-door meeting he had with the APC state chairmen that his administration will ensure that all cases of political assassination, intimidation and kidnapping in the country are thoroughly investigated to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice. The President said the cases will be investigated irrespective of the perpetrators’ political affiliations.”

Buhari allegedly told the APC chiefs that he remained committed to providing a level playing field for all Nigerians to get on with their daily lives or participate in electing their leaders, without fear of intimidation.

He also promised that his administration would continuously strengthen Nigeria’s criminal justice system to curb the reign of injustice and impunity in the country.

According to the statement, the President said,
“At every point, the law must be supreme and everyone must respect the law, if our democratic system is to survive. Injustice cannot survive for long. Justice will ultimately prevail. We will make sure that those saddled with the responsibility of ensuring justice and equity do not rest on their oars. The only way we can sustain our democracy is to ensure that the law remains supreme at all times. If the law is upheld, people will have confidence that they can vote for who they want to vote for, without intimidation or threats.
“The police and the judiciary must ensure that justice is done in the country. We won’t allow impunity to continue in certain states, where the rights of the people are being violated. I have a personal commitment to fair play and respect of personal rights. This government will do all that is possible to enforce that.”

While recalling his address to the National Executive Council of the APC on Friday, Buhari said now that the APC is the party in government, it must lead by example and consolidate on the gains of a democratic system.

The President urged political leaders in the country to keep to prescribed legal processes for the resolution of political disputes and not resort to violence and other forms of unacceptable behaviour in seeking redress for any perceived injustice.

He also called on them to work with the party’s elected officials to ensure that APC delivers on its promise of better living conditions for all Nigerians.

The leader of the delegation and chairman of the APC in Kano State, Umar Dogowa, reaffirmed their support for Buhari’s administration, assuring him that they would uphold the values of the party, promote peace and unity in the country.

The president made this declaration because some of the chairmen in states controlled by other parties complained to Buhari of political intimidation and harassment in their states.

Dogowa later told State House correspondents that the APC chairmen were in the Presidential Villa to congratulate the President on his election.


He said Buhari promised them that he would continue to be a true party man and that he would not rest on his oars until Nigeria is back on track.

Guinness Names The World’s Tallest Cow Ever

It’s official. At 6-foot-4, Blosom the Holstein is the world’s tallest cow ever. That’s the determination made by Guinness World Records, which had previously named the female Holstein the world’s tallest living cow.

The new record was announced on June 25, 2015.


Blosom lived on a farm in Orangeville, Illinois. Her owner, Patty Meads-Hanson, got Blosom when the cow was just eight weeks old. Blosom was 13 years old when she died on May 26. During her life, she was the official “greeter” for Memory Lane Crafting Retreat, a retreat situated on the farm.

How To Move On From A Painful Breakup - Both Parties Included

The worst part of the end of a relationship can be the lack of one. The open-endedness and plaguing questions of why and how it all went downhill can keep you up at night.

We’ve all been there, waiting for answers that never came and wasting precious time trying to get that closure from an ex who just wasn’t willing to give it.

There are tons of books and magazines on how to get him, please him and make him happy, but missing from much of that literature is practical advice on how to get what you need, whether it’s answers, closure or the will to just get over him.

I’ve scoured libraries, the Internet and talked to experts searching for some guidance to help deal with the ambiguous breakup of a relationship, but most of what I learned didn’t come from any of those places. It came from experience. It came from my girl friends’ experiences. And it came from being the one left confused and broken-hearted.

Whether it was a long drawn-out breakup or one that ended abruptly without warning, below are some tips on how to move on to bigger and better things—specifically a new you.

1. Play it cool. The first months after the end of a relationship is spent deconstructing, overanalyzing and explaining to every one you ever met what went wrong. Instead of jumping straight to the trash talk about how he wasn’t good in bed, try keeping mum on the subject. This doesn’t mean you need to praise him or avoid the topic altogether, but talking it to death will bore your friends and scare new guys away. The Girl’s Guide to Surviving a Breakup, “You don’t want your friends to feel as though their lives are unraveling as well or they will not be very helpful to you.” Not only will staying tight-lipped on the subject keep your name clear of drama, but it will baffle him as to why you aren’t pouring with distraught. Win-win.

2.Take some responsibility. We tend to either blame the breakup on ourselves or entirely on him, and neither really gets us anywhere.

A good friend of mine told me about an umpteen-paged letter she wrote to an ex specifically describing how he hurt her and the fault she was willing to claim. She never sent it. At first I didn’t really understand the point, but then I realized venting on paper can be cathartic. There’s a big different between wanting someone and needing someone, and if it’s the latter (which is often the case) taking some credit for the breakup will help you realize why the breakup was for the best.

3.Don’t play the victim. Women always tend to be the helpless and wounded in movies, and it’s seemingly no different when it comes to relationships. According to the American Psychological Association, women are twice as likely to develop depression than men.

Don’t get me wrong, the sympathy is nice when we feel lost and lonely, but it only makes us that much more vulnerable. Be strong and positive. Easier said than done of course, but the stronger-willed we are, the less likely we are to make bad decisions and be taken advantage of by the hard-to-resist rebound.

4.Work on you. One of the worst mistakes we make after a bad breakup is letting ourselves go physically, mentally, emotionally—or all the above. We tend to break down and spend too much time in our sweatpants wallowing.

And wallowing is good—even needed—for a certain period of time. But after the initial breakup shock has worn off, we need to get off the couch and take care of ourselves.

After a devastating breakup with an ex, I spent months in bed, most of which remains a blur of time I’ll never get back. Lesson learned. Treat yourself to a manicure or some new highlights. Living well really is the best revenge.

5.Refocus your life. This step is the hardest because it forces us to admit the relationship is completely over. Sit down and make a new list of priorities—sans ex—and figure out what is important to you. Give precedence to your family, friends, career and yourself. Find ways to fill that time left void by him and try new things. Push for that promotion, reconnect with old friends and take a mini-vacation with your mom or sister. Whatever it is, just count him out.

Now a lot of these tips may seem a little facetious and even idealistic, but the key to getting the closure you need is focusing less on the reasons surrounding the split because you may very well never get them. Allow yourself to cry and rely on friends.


Allot yourself that time. Just remember how much time we all spend pining after ex-boyfriends that didn’t even give us the time of day to offer an explanation. Then think about how much time it takes to find a new guy and build a better relationship. You do the math.

Fatal Accident At Maryland Area Of Lagos, 8 Casualties Reportedly Recorded

An unfortunate tragedy occurred late yesterday (around 11pm) following a fatal accident at Maryland area of Lagos.

The cause of the accident could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report but according to a witness who gave sketchy details of the incident, it was revealed that there were about 8 casualties recorded.


Men of the Lagos state ambulance service rushed the scene to help the wounded and take them to the hospital (as depicted in the picture).

Chris Brown Files For Paternity Because Baby Mama Is Demanding Ridiculous Monthly Allowance

Last week, it was a media war between Asamoah Gyana and Sarah Akwabla, borne out of what many considered as ridiculous pre-natal demands from Sarah—which pushed the Ghanaian football star to request DNA to establish if indeed he is the father of a baby the 22-year-old student is carrying.
Far in America, R&B star-Chris Brown who was super excited over his first baby-Royalty has filed paternity test—because, the baby Mama-Nia is demanding $15k a month in child support, way more than Chris says is fair.

TMZ writes that ;
“We’ve learned Chris just filed legal docs in Houston to establish paternity. That will give him the right to fight Nia over support and custody.
Chris has been paying Nia what he believes is a fair amount — she claims he’s been paying $2,500 a month. He wants a judge to set the figure, which he’s confident will be closer to his number than hers.

Chris also wants a judge to establish clear custody guidelines. He says Nia has been denying him the right to see his daughter, so he wants a judge to set her straight.”

It surely looks like, the America star baby Mama drama is what our young Ghanaian girls are learning—with Asamoah Gyan’s case being a key example.

Days after the USA Supreme Court made gay marriage legal in all states of the US, Miley Cyrus is prophesying her love to her new girlfriend, Angel Stella Maxwell.


The 22 year old singer came out as bisexual some time ago but this is the first time that we are actually getting to see Miley engage in romantic activities with any other girl.


The girl she is kissing is a Victoria Secret model named Angel Stella Maxwell and is Miley's official girlfriend. They both started dating 2 months ago apparently.
